Lawson

The newest suburb of Belconnen, Lawson is situated on the eastern foreshore of Lake Ginninderra, just south of the former Naval Transmitting Station. Bordered by Ginninderra Drive, Lake Ginninderra and Baldwin Drive, Lawson is only minutes to the heart of Belconnen, Lake Ginninderra. The suburb derives its name from Henry Lawson, short story writer and poet.

The Lawson Hilltop has sweeping views over Lake Ginninderra to its west, University of Canberra, Black Mountain with Telstra Tower in the south and the rest of North Canberra.

From Lawson’s residential development it is merely a short walk through the Lawson Foreshore to the edge of Lake Ginninderra. The Foreshore features tracks that wander along the lake’s edge, north towards Ginninderra Creek and south towards the Ginninderra Bridge.
